    Kanye West — Self Conscious (All Falls Down)

    “Please give it up for the future of hip hop—Kanye West!”


    A then-relatively unknown Kanye West rips though a poetic version of what is now know as “All Falls Down” on Def Poetry Jam.  The song has a completely different dynamic when performed as spoken word.  In addition to “Self Conscious”, West also performed “Bittersweet” and “18 Years (Gold Digger)” on the show.
